FIG Official - 45th Gymnastics World Championships, Nanning (CHN). October 3-12, 2014. Having just missed out on a podium rank in the All-around final in Nanning where he finished fourth, Oleg Verniaiev (UKR) was hungry for his first World medal. The reigning European champion on Parallel Bars, who qualified second for the Apparatus Final, outperformed top qualifier Danell Leyva (USA) and the rest of the finalists on Parallel Bars in execution, a factor that elevated him to first place with a winning score of 16.125 points. Watch this clip that shows Verniaiev's Gold medal winning performance, with our apologies for playing the wrong national anthem during the victory ceremony.
