Akanji to make debut vs Sevilla? | Pep Guardiola Press Conference

Pep Guardiola says Manchester City will not win the Champions League because of Erling Haaland alone.

“All the players who come here were brought here by the club to make us better, that makes sense,” Guardiola said.

“If we rely on Erling’s shoulders, we will not win the Champions League.

Guardiola will be without both John Stones and Kyle Walker for Tuesday's UEFA Champions Group G opener against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Stones trained on Monday morning in Manchester but didn't make the trip to Spain, while Walker came off with 10 minutes remaining of our 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Both players have muscular injuries, and it means new signing Manuel Akanji could make his debut against the La Liga side.
