Pep Guardiola says that though a run of three straight wins has given the perfect New Year lift to City, he is anticipating the toughest of Premier League tests at Brentford on Tuesday.

Saturday’s 8-0 FA Cup third round win against Salford City was City’s third consecutive win in a row and added to the sense of momentum building within the squad.

However, addressing the media ahead of the visit to the Gtech Stadium, Guardiola said that though delighted with the recent results he was anticipating the toughest of tests in West London tomorrow night.

“Of course, we won three games. Before it was impossible to win one and now we won three. That helps us,” the City boss declared.
