And our midfield talisman was once again at his inspirational best when Chelsea came to the Etihad for a crucial league clash in January.

Skipper for the day, the Belgian international proved a dynamic driving force in what was a vital assignment for Pep Guardiola’s.

And, with the score still goalless midway through the second half, KDB capped another memorable performance by conjuring up the all-important match-winning moment.

Picking up the ball midway in the Chelsea half, De Bruyne first shrugged off a N’Golo Kante challenge before cutting inside and then firing home a superb 25 yard curling right-footed strike.
