FIG Official - 15th World Gymnaestrada, Helsinki (FIN), July 12 - 18, 2015 - DAILY HIGHLIGHTS, July 13th (Day 2). The Gymnastics demonstrations carried on all day at the Messukeskus Expo and Convention Center in Helsinki. In the evening, spectators filled the Helsinki Ice Hall was filled for the first National Evening of this World Gymnaestrada. It was the Swiss who opened the ball before 7'000 spectators, a nearly full house. In their 90-minute show "Gymnastics is Relative," Swiss gymnasts showed a wonderful mix of Gymnastics and Acrobatics, infused with dynamic musical accompaniment and fascinating special effects in lighting. "Gymnastics is relative," paid homage to the work of Albert Einstein, whose 1915 theory of relativity modified our concepts of space and time. It's been 100 years already...but everything is relative...even in Gymnastics!
