FIG Official - Day 1 highlights of the 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Cairo (EGY), 3-6 June 2021. 2020-2021 World Challenge Cup Series, 3rd stage.

Men Day 1 Highlights:
In his first World Cup event, 17-year-old Illia Kovtun (UKR) emerged as a potential Ukrainian star, winning gold on Floor Exercise and Pommel Horse, while Ali Zahran (EGY) delighted the home crowd in Cairo by delivering gold for the host country on Still Rings at the first FIG World Challenge Cup held in Egypt in living memory.

Women Day 1 Highlights:
Nancy Taman (EGY) vaulted into the spotlight with gold for Egypt in Women’s Vault at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Cairo (EGY), while Tokyo Olympic qualifier Mandy Mohamed (EGY) earned silver on Uneven Bars, behind Diana Varinska (UKR). Other Vault medallists were Bianka Schermann (HUN) and Cenge Bacskay (HUN), while Larisa Iordache (ROU) took bronze on Uneven Bars.
