Whoopie Pie é um ótimo lanchinho para o fim da tarde ou para aquele último snack antes de dormir! Adoro abrir a geladeira no fim da noite e descobrir que as whoopies ainda não acabaram e estão lá esperando por mim ;D Além disso, fiz um drink delicioso com cerveja. Sim, é possível fazer drinks com cerveja e eles ficam ótimos! ENJOY ;)

Black Forest Whoopie Pie

A whoopie pie is the tipically american dessert, that reminds you more of a mini cake or a sandwich. There's a tale that says that the Amish women used to put those little treats inside their husbands' lunch bag when they went to work. And when the farmers found those delicious treats they'd scream WHOOPIE! But the actual story is that those whoopies must have been made for the first time with a cake's left over, but I think the first story is much more fun! Normally, the whoopies are made with equal parts of vegetable fat and butter. But since I'm not a big fan of vegetable fat and this recipe was perfect without it, i substituted it all for butter! It's healthier!

INGREDIENTS FOR THE WHOOPIE'S FILLING
- 250grams of MASCARPONE CHEESE
- 2 tbsp of SUGAR
- 240grams of ITALIAN CHERRIES IN SYRUP, deseeded.
INGREDIENTS FOR THE WHOOPIE'S DOUGH
- 80 grams of UNSALTED BUTTER
- 135 grams of BROWN SUGAR
- 1 large EGG
- 1 tsp of VANILLA EXTRACT
- 180 grams of FLOUR
- ½ tsp of BAKING POWDER
- ½ tsp of SALT
- 60 grams of POWDERED COCOA 100%
- 160ml of WHOLE MILK
- 2 tbsp of WHOLE YOGURT

PREPARATION OF THE WHOOPIE'S FILLING
1. In a mixer, put the mascarpone and sugar and mix them in a high speed until smooth.
2. Take it to the fridge to cool.

PREPARATION OF THE WHOOPIE'S DOUGH:
1. Preheat oven to 180C.
2. Grease the whoopie pie tray and powder it with powdered cocoa. Take all the excess out. TIP: you don't necessarily need a whoopie pie tray to make whoopie pies. You can place a baking sheet on a regular tray and make little balls with a piping bag. Remember to leave a distance of three fingers between each ball so they can spread when they bake.
3. Chop 100 grams of of cherry in small pieces.
4. In a mixer, mix the brown sugar with the butter at room temperature, until it's a fluffy and white batter.
5. Add the egg and the vanilla extract and mix it a little more until smooth.
6. Add the flour and half of the milk and mix it in a low speed.
7. Sift the cocoa powder on top of the batter and slowly add the other half of the milk, the yogurt and the baking powder. Continue mixing it, in a low speed, until smooth.
8. Add the cherries to the batte and gently mix it all with a spatula.
9. Place the batter on the tray with a spoon.
10. Take it to the oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
11. Take them out of the tray and let the whoopies cool.
12. When they're cool, make a sandwich with one side the whoopie, put some mascarpone filling, decorate with the cherries cut in half then close the sandwich with the other half.
13. Place them on a pretty plate and powder some powdered sugar on top.
14. And it's ready! Have fun!

Beer Cocktail

This is a full bodied drink that I am sure that will please most Brazilians! A drink made with beer and whisky, that has its flavor highlighted by the orange and the ginger! Not bad, huh?

INGREDIENTS
- 1 small piece of grated GINGER
- zestes of 2 ORANGES
- juice of 2 ORANGES
- 100ml of WHISKY
- 2 bottles of 500ml each of WHEAT BEER or LEMON GRASS BEER
DIRECTIONS
1. Grate the ginger and the orange in a cup.
2. Add the orange juice and the whisky. Mix them well and divide in two glasses.
3. Complete the glasses with a very cold beer! ;D
